Thought on Technology

This whole technology thing. Computer usage, iPhone apps,...is this what I do at this age? Or is this a lifetime thing?

But actually I see myself on a ranch when Im older, with peace and quiet, no technology, but we aint even thinking that far.

Thoughts on Pres.Obama's State of the Union Speech

First of all, what a grand spectacle. All three branches of government in one building! The Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches all hanging out together.
That's cool. Talk about a security issue.

I watched Obama's S.O.T.U. Address at the UOG computer lab, on hulu.com streaming LIVE. Good thing I had my headphones. It was on a 12 noon Guam time. I like to see the President make his entrance and exit, shaking hands with politicians en route.

All the Republican senators on one side and the Democratic senators on the other side. haha.
I really like how all these American political leaders stand up clap, cheer, and even boo the President on what he says in the middle of his speech. And the thing is Obama allows for responses to happen. haha.
It's nothing novel, this is typical for State of the Union Speeches for all President's but it's interesting to see Obama in this situation and how he handles it. We all remember when one republican senator yelled out "You Lie" to Obama during one of his three speeches to the chamber.

It was funny to see the President call out the Supreme Court judges about their landmark decision to allow no caps on companies who want to donate to a political campaign, going against a 100 year old law. Then the camera showed the judges and Judge Samuel Alito was shaking his head and mumbled something saying "that's not true." There was a big debate on CNN about this particular part on the speech because they said we rarely get to see a reaction from Supreme Court judges. Haha. I was suprised to see the judge shake his head. Obama definately saw that, because all the judges were sitting in the front row.

I also liked the part where Obama was talking about climate change, and there was some commotion when he mentioned that he knew some (the republicans) would disagree on the scientific evidence of global warming. See the clip below:

Some other quotes that Obama said regarding education.
"In the 21st century, the best anti poverty program is a world class education"
"Price of college tuition is just one of the burdens affecting the middle class."
"In the U.S.A. you should not worry about being broke just because you decided to go to college."

Pharrell Williams on on stage at 2010 French Music Convention, Talks about Digital Ventures and Use of the Internet

This is a sit down, key note speaker, interview with a successful individual who is known to think beyond the norm, and recognizes the age of technology that we live in. He was recently named by Billboard magazine as the best music producer of the past decade, as part of the Neptunes. So this is a weird guy, who dresses weird, but is celebrated, perhaps due to his weirdness.
I watched this whole interview (not all at once) and was able to take a few good things out of it.

If you wanna watch the video interview, this is the link:

Amazing: NBA player Monta Ellis Sinks Crazy Shots

Well isn't this something cool to see.

I have never slept before midnite this year 2010

True fact. I dont know why. Whatever the case is, my body, has gotten used to staying up until around 2 am. I wake up around 1030-1130 most days, maybe thats why. The other night I lied down from 2-6 am trying to sleep. It sucked. Well at least I was watching THE NINTH GATE with Johnny Depp, its worth experiencing, try to youtube the trailer to see if you wanna watch it. Anyways, man I wish I could sleep earlier. Maybe next year.

I Will Always Be A Conan O'Brien Fan

So I dont know if you are aware of the late night battle between Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien. The end result is Conan is leaving NBC and Jay Leno will take back the Tonight Show at 11:35 pm. First off, I've been watching Conan's show since high school when it was late night with Conan O'Brien at 12:35 am. For some reason I always slept late and Conan was the only thing funny at that time and I faithfully watched that show and grew to like his off the wall sense of humor. I'm sure there are other Guam ppl who like his sense of humor too. Well, point is, I'm kind of sad that Conan's not gonna be on tv anymore, but I think he will be back on air on another network before Summer 2010. So I'm gonna have to go a couple months without laughing at Conan's current events updates and his hilarious take on them. So peace out Conan for a little bit, if all else fails come to Guam, and start a show here, you could easily be the new host of KUAM News Extra since Sonya Artero left the show a few weeks ago. haha.

Thoughts on Haiti Earthquake

An extremely sad and unfortunate occurrence. This is a serious serious thing. I took a time out to say a prayer for all the people and all the victims of this terrible disaster. It almost serves as a big wake up call to start the new year saying be grateful for what you have. All I can say is Peace be with you all. Guam is on the other side of the planet but people out here are talking about it. Honestly, Im addicted to CNN, MSNBC and FOX NEWS broadcasting the latest on the Haiti earthquake. Its the first channel I check when I wake up and before I go to sleep. On a personal note, one of my high school friends, was actually out there in Haiti, serving in the peace corps. So for a whole day since the earthquake happened me and my friends on Guam were unsure if he was alright. I was confident he was okay, and fortunately for everyone he was okay.
It's very good to see President Obama pledging $100 million in relief efforts and also just regular people pitching in money and helping in any way they can. That's what you call humanity.

Audiences Experiencing 'Avatar Blues': Some Reporting Suicidal Thoughts Because They Cant Live in Perfect World of Pandora

This is the CNN article:
http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/Movies/01/11/avatar.movie.blues/index.html

Haha. My thoughts on this is it's crazy. Some people really got problems. Or they think too much about stuff. I saw the movie and I took it for what it was...Entertainment.
But I understand them in the way that since they are exposed to it and aware of it, they cannot completely forget it. In some cases they become obsessed with it. So I think that's what is happening here, with people getting depressed after seeing Avatar. I mean a lot of planet earth people have seen this movie. $1.4 Billion dollars worldwide! It's on track to be the highest grossing movie of all time.
Anyways, on Guam, there are no reported cases of suicidal thoughts due to watching Avatar.

Guam Cop Story (2010)

Driving home at 1:50 AM. Monday night. Tamuning toAsan. First sighting, I See an SUV cop car. Tahoe. Drive the opposite lane at Alupang hotel. Absolutely no one is in front of me. Then I see a cop car gassing up at shell gass station so I said okay I think Im good for the rest of the way. The only patrol car in this area is gassing up right now. Alright solit. Well, I was wrong. haha. Soon as I start speeding up I see blue lights stopped right in front of Ralphys. I was like oh shit, their doing a checkpoint or something. laugh. Then I got closer and I realized it was two cop cars pulling over this car on the far right lane. In front of Raplys. The cop that pulled me over was standing in front talking to this youthful looking fellow. aka young guy like they were chilling having a cigarette. But they werent. I slowed down a lot. Looked at the situation a few brief seconds then continued on my way. They could have arrested me for not keeping my eyes on the road. "A why you looking at us?! Look at the road!" is what the cop said. Funny stuff. But he didnt say that. Anyways case in point I always see a cop car on the way home at this time. I drive on the road around 2 AM a lot. For some reason. So bottom line is cop cars...Thanks for being there! But also, Thanks for being there?

Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight Is Off

WTF. But Im not that mad, cuz I know this fight will happen by the end of 2010. Maybe Nov.2o1o. This whole thing is just to add drama to the story line when the fight actually does happen. Both fighters would not be so stupid to give up a $40 million dollar payday. Or are they?

Wierd Stuff

Jan. 10, 2010. The start of a new 10 year decade. I can laugh at that.
What will be more funny is 10/10/10. haha.
